Diamond Sea
William J. Hall - June 6, 1996

Do you know, Chrysanthemum,
I’m leaving when the morning comes
Do you know, Chrysanthemum,
I’m weary and my work is done.
I want to go through that open door
Far away where I can be free;
Where the mountain snows
Make the rivers run
To the diamond sea.

I saw myself walk by your side
And I was happy once again.
I took your small hand here in mine
Just like it was - like it was then
I’ve done my best to run and hide
Rid myself of your sweet mem’ry
Of the mountain snows
And rivers that run
To the diamond sea

Do you know, Chrysanthemum,
Though it can never be the same
Though I return and you are gone,
Gone forever like a perfect dream.
I’ve got to breath that sacred air
Got to feel our ground ‘neath my feet
Under mountain snows
Over rivers that run
To the diamond sea
