  7 Midnight talks
  8 And rainy walks
  9 And cold November moons.
  10 I'm sorry I
  11 Have made you cry -
  12 I'll be back home soon.
 
  13 I never meant to
  14 Be cavalier or careless
  15 With your heart.
  16 This all we've been through
  17 And all the miles that keep us
  18 Far apart -
  19 And sometimes
  20 On the telephone line
  21 I just don't know what to do.
  22 You know that I
  23 Never meant to lie,
  24 I will be back home soon.
 
  25 Your birthday - that I missed -
  26 And I was gone for Christmas -
  27 New Year came and left, it's true;
  28 And no matter what I wish
  29 I'm proud - and it's like this:
