Thousand Dollar Girl
William J. Hall - February, 2018

She smiles give me more
Pulls you through her door
Even in your distance
You feel her calling
All the things you planned to say
Don't really add up anyway
There'll be no parlance
Now you're falling
You know
You should pick up and go
Take your stuuborn pride
Your darkness
Your freedom
But for now
Just for tonight anyhow
It's cold outside
Traffic's a mess
And you're bleedin'

Feeds you oranges and tea
consumes you greedily
She paints your likeness
From your island
When you see you through her eyes
Someone you don't recognize
Across her canvas
She caught you smiling
You turn around you turn around
In this whole damned town
Her feet still don't touch the ground

When morning comes
She's sleeping in your arms
Like a secret promise
You are holding
You swear with all you've got
You'll never break her heart
Long as she belives in hapiness
You're golden
You know
You should pick up and go
Take your stuuborn pride
Your darkness
Your freedom
But for now
Just for tonight anyhow
It's cold outside
And confess
There's no leaving
You turn around you turn around
In this whole damned whole damned town
Her feet still don't touch the ground
